Fr. Francis Donnelly, CC

About Me
My name is Fr. Francis Donnelly, CC.
When did you join the community?

June 30, 1979

What My Adoption Means

The effectiveness of my ministry is directly impacted by the ongoing formation and leadership development I receive from my community. Adopting me or any other Companions’ priest ensures that we can be priests who are thriving and not simply surviving.

My Story

What was your background before you joined the CC?
I was born in Galway, Ireland, and my family migrated to Montreal, Quebec. I was ordained for the Archdiocese of Montreal. I was in parish ministry, hospital chaplaincy, and worked on the marriage tribunal. I became the Diocesan Liaison for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and was a leader in a covenant community in Montreal.

What led you to join this community?
I was convicted that the Companions represented a chance for renewal of priestly ministry and life, and of my own need for priestly community. I saw the possibility of being involved in the formation of priests. I shared the Companions’ vision of Christian renewal, charismatic ministry, evangelization, ecumenism, Marian movement, and renewal of parishes.

What kind of ministry are you doing now?
I was ordained to the priesthood June 30, 1979. I am currently retired from active ministry.
