The effectiveness of my ministry is directly impacted by the ongoing formation and leadership development I receive from my community. Adopting me or any other Companions’ priest ensures that we can be priests who are thriving and not simply surviving.
In January, 1996 I was asked by my diocesan bishop to spend some time in Ottawa with the CC’s – to see how they lived and ministered together. At the time, I was experiencing some disillusionment and frustration in my priestly life. I was searching for a spiritually healthier way to serve as a priest. When I came to my first CC brothers meeting and came to know the brothers over time, I liked what I saw and how it satisfied the spiritual & human needs I have as a priest. In 2001, I applied for (and received) a leave of absence from my home diocese to discern a call to formally join the CC’s.
I have been a member of this Community’s Formation Team, Chaplain at York University in Toronto, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Halifax, Vocations & Admissions Director for the Companions, and General Superior of the Companions of the Cross. I currently serve in Itinerant Ministry.
